Think of this as a brief service announcement, a reminder that we should always treat the ones we love as we would if we knew today was the last day we’d see them. So give your significant other a cinema-worthy smooch. Hug and kiss your kids. Call your parents and tell them how much you appreciate them. Catch up with a friend. Walk the dog.
Below is Alicia Keys song, “Like You’ll Never See Me Again.”
Is making more time for family and friends one of your goals for this year? If so, how are you doing?

Very nice, Reese. And so important in this day when we easily get caught up in solo projects and technology. We lose personal interaction, and then when opportunity presents itself, we forget how to behave…what to say…what to do.
I live by John 13:34-35, “A new commandment I give you. Love one another. As I have loved you may you have love, one to another. By this shall all men know you are my disciples, if you have love one to another.”
But a lesson I’ve also learned throughout this period of caregiving for my mom is to remember to love yourself. Take time for yourself. Always giving to others can make one easily forget about the care that YOU need. Now…to put that into practice!
Great post.

I’m so glad you mentioned loving yourself! When I first thought of this post, it was one of the primary things I wanted to mention. I totally forgot, so thank you for bringing out a very important point. This is especially true for anyone who is a caregiver, as you are.
That first photo reminds me of a painting my mom did when I was child. She was an abstract artist in the 60s and 70s, and I remember the smell of acrylic paints and her creations which still hang in her house. She did one of that very sculpture with the O hanging at that same slant.
Good word to associate with “L”. The foundation of who we are and how we interact with other.
Love is indeed the foundation of who we are. How cool that your mom is an artist!
